Steven LaPenta offers over thirty years of automotive experience. Steven began his career as a service technician in an automobile dealership. His strong communication and management skills quickly earned him a Service Director position. Today, Steve owns and operates Dealer Automated Systems Inc, a progressive fixed operations consultant and training firm. He has trained more than:
- 1,500 Service Advisors for import and domestic auto dealerships
- 3,000 Service Technicians
- 700 Service and Parts Managers
- 250 Dealer Principals Attended Fixed Operations Training Workshops
- Worked on Ford-General Motors-Nissan OEM Initiatives
Steve LaPenta is the leader in the automotive industry's experience, trends and technologies and he is very passionate about helping automotive dealers grow their business. Steve believes in building a long-term relationship with his clients. For any consulting relationship to be successful, Steve will ask the Dealer Principal to articulate it's immediate and long-term business objectives and expectations. Steve will identify at the outset how his consulting engagement will ultimately improve their business. An agreement must be formed that the Dealer Principal and their management team will take a hands-on approach during the consulting engagement. This agreement establishes a commitment upfront that the management team is now ready to move forward with the basics of "fixing its people".
The first day of training day begins with a kickoff workshop presentation that involves every employee in understanding the effects of changes that have taken place within today's auto industry. This ensures that the entire team forms a consensus and a commitment to implement and measure the necessary processes to keep their fixed operations business growing.
Steven is also very proficient with DMS service department applications like ADP, Reynolds and UCS and as such, has helped many dealerships maximize shop loading systems utilization by improving shop production, and substantially improve their return on technology investments. Steve is one of the most knowledgeable consultants and trainers that understand the philosophies and strategies that are associated with operating a successful service department shop loading, dispatching and/or Electronic Repair Order application.
